Description
(Two Positions Available: Haitian Creole–Speaking & Spanish–Speaking)
Family and Community Resources, Inc. (FCR) is seeking two passionate, motivated, and flexible advocates to join our community-based domestic violence program. One position requires fluency in Haitian Creole, and the other requires fluency in Spanish.
The mission of FCR is to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for all survivors of trauma, including those impacted by domestic and sexual violence, substance abuse, bereavement, human trafficking and other causes. With the understanding that the aim of equality and justice is ongoing, we are committed to modeling diversity, inclusivity, and equity within our organization to reflect the communities in which we serve.
Community based domestic violence program is seeking a passionate, creative, motived, flexible person to provide a continuum of survivor-centered services to the Haitian Creole and Spanish speaking communities. Bi-lingual Haitian Creole and/or Spanish is a must.
Responsibilities
- crisis intervention
- safety planning
- case management
- housing assistance
- advocacy to survivors of domestic violence
- community outreach to Haitian Creole and/or Spanish speaking communities and provider
Requirements
Requirements
- Must have a passion for working with all kinds of people to bring about social justice and change
- Two years’ experience and understanding of trauma and working with survivors of domestic violence using an empowerment/survivor-centered model
- Experience working with child protection and criminal justice agencies a plus
- Must be able to multi-task and have excellent listening and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Valid MA driver’s license and clean driving record.
