Responsibilities:
- Lead performance management of senior leadership team including leadership development, training, and developmental coaching and feedback.
- Ensure that all programs and functions operate in compliance with rules, regulations and standards applicable to the on-going operations of the organization including all relevant funding sources.
- Oversee the execution of the standards associated with national certification (Council on Accreditation)
- Oversee the personnel policies and practices of the organization.
- Schedule, plan, prepare for and attend all Board and Committee meetings and maintain records of those meetings.
- Provide comprehensive, accurate and timely information to the Board and develop policies and procedures for Board consideration and adoption.
- Actively recruit volunteers to serve as Board members and orients them to the organization.
- Help the board develop and oversee the completion of the agency’s long range/strategic plan including identifying business development opportunities consistent with the agency’s long-range plan.
- Provide oversight for the development and execution of a continual fund-raising program including grant writing.
- Seek to secure planned giving opportunities to fund the endowment
- Ensure that funds are disbursed in accordance with contract requirements and donor designations.
- Work with marketing department to execute marketing plan
- Work with legislators to advocate for issues consistent with agency value
- Develop and foster relationships at the regional, state and local level in order to develop strategic plans for the organization consistent with its mission.
- Serve as the organization’s spokesperson and maintain productive relationships with other agencies, governmental entities, community, key business partners, board members, media and families of UCP clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field, master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in case management, advocacy or related work, with a significant portion in non-profit organization(s)
- 5 or more years of leadership experience in a moderately complex environment
- Successful fundraising, program management, grant-writing and management experience
- Excellent communication and relationship skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with board members, staff, and community partners
- Critical thinking, problem solving skills
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for nonprofit organizations
- Passion for UCP mission and goals
