The Crisis Clinician will provide comprehensive community-based emergency mental health and substance abuse services to individuals and families in crisis.

Responsibilities
- Ensure an environment that promotes safety, recovery, and treatment.
- Provide psychiatric and substance abuse evaluation of individuals and families in crisis in community and clinic settings.
- Provide crisis intervention services including crisis case management and short-term crisis counseling as follow-up from initial evaluation.
- Maintain linkages with specific community services by providing documented case consultations and problem resolution.
- Offer suggestive recommendations to clients regarding service options.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of managed care and health insurance systems; provide other clinicians with managed care information and resources pertinent to the crises being managed.
- Maintain necessary documentation and records.
- Actively participate in supervision and staff meetings.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in a related counseling field, and at least two years’ experience with target population (inpatient, outpatient, residential acceptable).
- Must hold a valid driver’s license, have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients.
- Must have working knowledge of current version of the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
- Must possess excellent intake, interviewing and assessment skills. Ability to develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with employees and providers.
- Superb interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and commitment to clients.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that is benefitted by the independent successes of all staff members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to develop effective documentation.
- Demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
