Description
The Metro North Young Adult Career Center serves out-of-school young adults ages 18–24 with employment and education support. The Program Manager leads and grows the center, coaches staff, and builds strong partnerships to expand the center’s impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement the Metro North Young Adult Career Center (MNYACC), a career center focused on the delivery of employment and educational services to out of school youth, ages 18-24.
- Coach and lead the Young Adult team to ensure operations meet the requirements of the funding source, and that performance goals and objectives are being met or exceeded.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the MassHire Metro North
- Workforce Board (Board), employers, community partners, supportive service organizations, economic development groups, and all workforce partners to optimize customer satisfaction and community relations.
- Facilitate and/or deliver strong internal communications systems related to the strategic, administrative, and programmatic aspects of the MNYACC.
- Conduct regular meetings with Young Adult team staff members to review performance and contract requirements.
- Seek out best practices to replicate when and where appropriate.
- Identify and recommend initiatives that support the objectives of the MNYACC.
- Provide leadership that supports overall goals related to the delivery of effective, efficient, and equitable programs.
- Utilize external resources and networks to maximize the impact of the MNYACC.
- Collaborate with ET&Y staff regarding department-wide systems development and strategic visioning.
- Conduct program related research and analysis, as well as prepare correspondence, presentations, and reports for the System Director and/or the Vice President of Workforce Development and Alternative Education.
- Represent the MassHire Metro North Career Center in local, State and National forums as requested by the Deputy Director.
- Utilize Extreme Customer Service behaviors in all interactions with internal and external customers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and one to three years of experience providing workforce development, employment, or case management services required.
- Experience working with individuals who must overcome barriers to successfully enter the labor market or to pursue higher education preferred.
- Prior experience working with Young Adults preferred.
- Prior experience with WIOA policies and services preferred but not required.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to learn and implement Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), or its successor legislation, regulations.
- Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio economic, and cultural backgrounds.
Expected Salary: $62,189.40 USD. Salary scales are set according to an explicit compensation policy and relevant market data. Due to funding restrictions and our strong focus on internal parity, this salary is thoughtfully aligned with the duties expected for this role, and offers are firm.
