Cambridge Family & Children's Service

Company Overview

As the oldest human services agency in the city, Cambridge Family & Children's Service (CFCS) has a long and distinguished history of serving children, youth, and families in Greater Boston and the surrounding areas. What began as a small orphanage over 145 years ago lives on as an ever-expanding, multi-service organization that annually provides more than 1600 individuals in over 100 Massachusetts communities with essential support.

The CFCS mission is to provide high quality support and advocacy for children, adults and families to develop and nurture safe, permanent relationships and maximize individual growth. In 2017, in line with our mission, and in partnership with the Department of Children & Families, CFCS set out to try new ways to expedite permanency for every child. The CFCS Permanency Priority enhances all agency programming through re-envisioning our focus on permanency to achieve even more positive outcomes for each youth that we serve.

The Permanency Priority's foundation can be captured in the following sentiment:
For every child..... a caring adult.
...... a loving family.
...... a supportive community.
