Company Overview
Parent/Professional Advocacy League, Inc. (PPAL) is a vibrant, impactful nonprofit organization working to improve life for families of children and young adults with mental health needs. PPAL works throughout Massachusetts helping families navigate services in mental health, juvenile justice, and school, at no cost. We closely partner with other community and state agencies to support families, nurture parent leaders, and improve systems. More information about PPAL can be found at https://ppal.net.
Company History
1991 - Founded by a small group of parents and professionals
1996 - Began Children’s Mental Health Week
1998 - Filed our first piece of legislation
2001 - Was incorporated and opened Worcester office
2002 - Created 1st family-driven survey and received 1st SAMHSA grant for family organizations to develop training
2006 - Helped found and lead Children’s Mental Health Campaign
2008 - Began contract with DYS and JDAI
2009 - Hired 1st multicultural outreach coordinator
2010 - Began YouthMOVE Masssachusetts
2011 - Began annual conference - which is still going strong!
2023 - Consolidated offices to our current headquarters in Westborough, MA
